This comes as Trump, the likely Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election, continues to face a criminal trial in a Manhattan courtroom.

Trump has consistently expressed his willingness to engage in a debate with Biden, asserting that he is prepared to do so "anywhere, anytime, anyplace." This assertion was made even more poignant as he spent his eighth day in court.

President Biden, who had previously remained silent on the matter, finally addressed the topic of a potential debate with his 2024 opponent. During a radio interview with Howard Stern on Friday, Biden confirmed that he would be "happy" to debate Trump. "I am, somewhere, I don’t know when," Biden stated, responding to Stern's uncertainty about his participation in a debate.

Following Biden's interview, Trump took to his Truth Social account to extend an invitation to Biden for a debate at the courthouse in Lower Manhattan. Trump's post read, "In the alternative, he’s in New York City today, although probably doesn’t know it, and so am I, stuck in one of the many Court cases that he instigated as ELECTION INTERFERENCE AGAINST A POLITICAL OPPONENT - A CONTINUING WITCH HUNT! It’s the only way he thinks he can win. In fact, let’s do the Debate at the Courthouse tonight - on National Television, I'll wait around!"

After the court proceedings on Friday, Trump reflected on the day's testimonies. He criticized the Democrats, accusing them of orchestrating the trial as a strategy to win the upcoming election. However, he expressed confidence in his poll numbers, stating, "But I doubt it because the poll numbers are very good for us."
