In a startling display at Harvard University, anti-Israel protesters hoisted a Palestinian flag in a location typically reserved for the American flag, fueling concerns over escalating campus demonstrations.

This incident occurred on Saturday as radical students continued to occupy the prestigious Ivy League institution.

Footage disseminated online depicted three students raising the Palestinian flag over the renowned statue of John Harvard, a spot traditionally reserved for the Stars and Stripes. The Harvard Crimson reported that the flag-raising incident transpired shortly after 6:30 p.m., with a total of three flags being hoisted on campus.

A university spokesperson condemned the students' actions as a breach of Harvard's policy. "The flags raised by protesters over University Hall were removed by Harvard facilities staff," the spokesperson informed The Post. "The actions are a violation of University policy and the individuals involved will be subject to disciplinary action."

The incident elicited strong reactions online. Mor Hogeg, an online user, expressed his concern over the protesters' agenda. "These pro-Hamas protesters' sole agenda is to eradicate every western value and every basic human right while establishing an Islamic Sharia law regime," Hogeg posted on Sunday. "They are starting with the Jews in Israel as their main objective and will continue with the entire west," he added, emphasizing the need for vigilance against such movements.

Another user, Mark Isaacson, suggested the need for military intervention. "This is where the National Guard needs to be called in," Isaacson wrote. He also criticized the lack of appropriate role models for young people, citing the example of congressional representatives waving Ukrainian flags.

The Harvard Crimson noted that the flagpole at the Harvard statue typically flies the American flag but has also displayed the flags of visiting foreign dignitaries. The outlet reported that there was no US flag flying at the time of Saturday's incident. The Stars & Stripes is usually hoisted at 7 a.m. from Monday through Friday and lowered at 4 p.m. for proper storage.

The raising of the Palestinian flag coincided with anti-Israeli students on the school grounds chanting "Free, free Palestine" and "We flay for Palestine." Similar scenes have unfolded at college campuses across the US, including Columbia University and other Ivy League institutions.

These demonstrations were triggered by Israel's counteroffensive in response to a surprise attack on the Jewish state by Hamas terrorists on October 7, which resulted in over 1,000 Israeli casualties. The Harvard Crimson reported that university staff promptly removed the Palestinian flag after it was hoisted on Saturday, amidst jeers from the students.
