Esteemed actor and comedian Jon Lovitz has recently expressed his criticism of the Democratic Party, particularly their stance on Israel and their response to the rising antisemitism in the United States.

Lovitz, in an interview with Fox News Digital, stated, "You should vote for whoever you like, okay? But if you’re Jewish – they passed a bill about condemning antisemitism, which is condemning hate and violence toward Jewish people. 70 Democrats voted against it." This statement highlights the comedian's concern over the party's handling of antisemitism.

The actor also criticized Senator Chuck Schumer, who is Jewish, for suggesting that Israel should hold elections. Lovitz argued that this was an inappropriate interference in another country's political affairs, especially during a time of conflict. He also took issue with Senator Bernie Sanders, accusing him of being a "self-loathing Jew" due to his criticism of Israel's actions during the recent conflict with Hamas.

Lovitz further defended former President Donald Trump, who has been accused of antisemitism by some liberal critics. The comedian argued that Trump has done more for Israel than any other U.S. president, and dismissed the antisemitism claims by pointing out Trump's close relationships with Jewish family members and his welcoming attitude towards Jews at his Mar-a-Lago club.

Lovitz also took aim at Representative Ilhan Omar, who he described as "completely antisemitic" for her comments suggesting that there are Jews on both sides of the Israel-Hamas debate who support genocide. He refuted her claims, arguing that the situation in Palestine cannot be compared to the genocide committed by the Nazis in Germany.

The comedian also expressed his disappointment with Jewish students who support Hamas, stating, "But if there’s Jewish students at the university campus that are pro-Hamas, then it’s sad to admit that the Jewish people – their reputation is being smart. But clearly, there’s a lot of dumb ones. They’re ignorant. And they’re believing what they’re being told, and they’re ignoring history."

Lovitz, who has been a lifelong Democratic voter and a vocal supporter of Israel, revealed that he no longer identifies with either political party following the events of Oct. 7. He expressed his disillusionment with the Democratic Party, stating, "Jewish people for years, including myself, have been, you know, mostly liberal and Democrats. And so, what do you do when the party that you’ve been a part of all your life is against you?"
