Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, has been selected to serve as a delegate from Florida, nominating his father as the Republican presidential candidate at the party's national convention.

Barron, who is set to graduate from high school in the coming week, will be one of Florida's 41 at-large delegates, as confirmed by Evan Powers, the state party chairman. The convention is scheduled to take place in Milwaukee from July 15 to 18.

Despite being largely shielded from the political limelight, the 18-year-old Barron's new role as a delegate propels him into the political arena. He will join his elder brothers, Donald Trump Jr, 46, and Eric Trump, 40, as well as his youngest sister, Tiffany Trump, 30, as part of the Florida delegation. However, Ivanka Trump, 42, the eldest daughter of the former president and a former advisor during his presidency, has announced she will not participate in her father's 2024 White House bid.

"We have a great delegation of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and even Trump family members," stated Mr. Evans. He further emphasized Florida's strong convention team and their determination to secure a significant victory in the state. Evans expressed his firm belief that Trump will triumph over Joe Biden in the upcoming November election, stating to the US Sun, "Mark my words, we are going to win and we will win big in November."

Barron was recently in the news during the commencement of his father's historic criminal trial last month. The former president faced accusations of making hush money payments to Stormy Daniels to allegedly suppress stories about a purported affair. Trump has vehemently denied both the affair and the charges leveled against him.

Judge Juan Merchan, after careful deliberation, decided to adjourn the court session on May 17, acquiescing to the former president's request to attend Barron's graduation ceremony. However, Trump is now slated to headline a political fundraiser on the same day he requested a break from the New York courthouse. The Minnesota Republican Party announced his attendance at the Lincoln Reagan Dinner. "We are thrilled to welcome President Trump back to Minnesota," stated David Hann, the state GOP chairman. "I can think of no one more fitting to join us this year than President Trump."
