Critical race theory, or "the idea that people should be looked at by their skin color," is "insulting" to people, Terrell said, aiming his criticism at the Biden administration's Department of Education.
"They're looking at the curriculum. They're looking at the lesson plans, and I guarantee you, critical race theory is a racist theory. And I want to destroy this myth right now. People of all colors, including myself, oppose critical race theory because it's based on a lie. This country was founded on liberty and freedom," he told Fox & Friends.
Critical race theory and other similarly linked beliefs hold that the United States is essentially racist and that skin color is applied to create and maintain social, economic, and political inequalities between whites and nonwhites. Critics insist it assigns all white people to the role of oppressors and all people of color to that of the victim.

"I'll tell you right now, these white liberals on the Democratic side, they do not speak for America. I think the strategy should be what's going on right now," Terrell continued. "Families across the country of all colors should challenge this school board, demand to see the curriculum, demand to see the lesson plan, demand to see the stated objective, to see if this critical race theory is in the school curriculum. If so, challenge it, and raise it to a level where people are aware of it."

Critical race theory and its assimilation into the country's education policy will be "a major factor, along with crime in the 2022 election, in which the Democrats are going to lose," Terrell said.

On the 13th of July, Leo Terrell fired back at liberal actor John Leguizamo’s profanity-laced rant against critical race theory opponents issuing a challenge to the Hollywood celebrity on “Fox & Friends” to debate him on the topic.
"I think he’s absolutely wrong. Why should we listen to an actor? Is he qualified? Is he a former professor? Is he a lawyer? Why should 340 million Americans, parents, teachers, students listen to him? He’s not qualified to give his opinion on critical race theory. He’s not qualified to talk about whether or not it’s taught. And he’s more than not qualified to claim that it’s just a legal theory. It’s a base of conclusions without supporting facts. His acting platform does not qualify him to tell parents and teachers and students that critical race theory does not exist."
