American track and field star Sha’Carri Richardson was booted from a flight with American Airlines after getting into an altercation with a flight attendant.

Richardson posted that this occurred via her Instagram account.

The 23-year-old Richardson stated on her Instagram account that a flight attendant she identified as “John” was disrespectful to her while trying to speak on her phone before the flight took off. The New York Post says that she posted a video of herself seated on the plane before directing the camera toward the flight attendant with whom she disagreed.

The New York Post reports that she posted the following caption on her video:

“Before the video, this gentleman asked me to get off a cell phone call. I did,” and said, “I told him I didn’t like the tone he used with me. Following that, while standing in front of me doing the safety protocols, he continued to lean over to look at my phone. He asked to see that my phones were in airplane mode. He demanded that I show him. Which I did in front of him.”

It is unknown where Richardson was traveling to, but she said she was on vacation. She continues to argue with the flight attendant about the video she posted to her social media account. The attendant asked her to stop filming, and this sent Richardson into an angry rant toward the attendant.

She said the following on the video while speaking to the attendant:

“I’m recording me, but you jumped in my video, so I caught you, because you jumped in my video,” and “You’re harassing me at this point, so I think you should stop. I think you should stop.”

Many other passengers on the flight are heard getting upset with Richardson and asking that she stop arguing with the flight attendant. They are ready to get on with their flights and vacation, but Richardson continues to argue.

In her Instagram video, Richardson is heard responding to the angry passengers by saying:

“Y’all see him, right? Y’all see him, right? Y’all see him, right? I’m sorry, it’s not me,” and “Talk to him. No ma’am. Do not talk to me like that. I’m an adult. Do not talk to me like that. Do not talk to me like that. Tell him to stop. Do not yell at me if you do not know what’s going on.”

Regardless, Richardson was kicked off of the flight for the disturbance that she caused on the flight.
