When it comes to being out of touch, Jane Fonda has taken things to the next level.

Fonda, 85, recently appeared on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” for an interview. During the interview, she pointed out how climate change is because of racism. What? Jane Fonda appeared on the show with co-stars to promote a new movie and discuss why they were involved in activism.

She recalled that the Vietnam War got her interested in social activist projects and pointed out how there was nothing she could do but join the movement against the war.

Then, Jane Fonda was asked how she began participating in other aspects of being an activist. That’s when things go downhill. According to Fox News, “‘Well, you know, you can take anything - sexism, racism, misogyny, homophobia, whatever, the war,’ the actress said. ‘And if you get into it, study it and learn about it and the history of it, and everything’s connected. There’d be no climate crisis if it weren’t for racism.’”

When asked for an explanation, Fonda said, “Where would they put the sh-.” After that, she explained how people have to have somewhere to put factories and prisons, and no one will put those things in wealthy neighborhoods. Instead, they put it in poor communities. So, by that logic, if we did not have racism and social injustice, we would not have things like climate change.

Fonda gets her inspiration for activism from Greta Thunberg. She’s been arrested repeatedly for protesting and recently took four months off work to do sit-ins and rallies in Washington, DC.

While it’s excellent, she is standing up for what she believes; she might be slightly off. For example, there are a lot of prisons that are literally in the middle of almost nowhere. They aren’t in the ghetto. Landfills that impact the environment are also not in the ghetto.

There is not a single poor person that owns a private jet, and those aren’t great for the environment either. Instead of blaming everything on racism, let’s remember to look at the whole picture and use our prefrontal cortex.
