A man from Oregon was caught viewing graphic porn of children being tortured.

He was charged with encouraging sexual abuse, which he pled guilty to. You’d think the sentence would be harsh for this crime, but it’s so minimal you’re not going to believe it.

A judge handed him probation. On top of that, he has to serve a few days in jail. However, he’s not ordered to do it on a specific date. Instead, he can serve his minimal jail sentence when it’s convenient.

The Blaze reports, “The guilty plea represented the culmination of a two-year investigation which began when the state department of justice alerted local authorities that child pornography had been uploaded on a messaging app in the St. Helens area.”

After that, police began to investigate. They seized his phone when they determined that Scott Johnson, 27, was a suspect. A forensic investigation determined that there was child pornography on the phone and that it was of young girls being tortured.

Johnson claimed it wasn’t his fault because someone asked him if he wanted to see something and sent it to him. However, even after he knew the links would send him child pornography, he continued to click on the links.

First, prosecutors offered him a plea deal that involved a 60-month sentence. However, Johnson refused. Instead, he pled guilty and asked the judge for probation instead. He wound up with five years probation and 90 days in jail. The 90 days can be served on weekends when it’s convenient for him until he has completed the 90-day sentence.

Per The Blaze, “In Oregon, encouraging child sexual abuse in the first degree is a Class B felony, a crime which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.”

Previously, the governor granted clemency to a murderer. This is consistent with their soft-on-crime approach. Theft, vandalism, and other crimes are prevalent throughout the city. It’s a common theme in Democrat cities that are soft on crime.
