A man loaded his AR-15 and headed into Target.

Shoppers and staff began fleeing for their lives. However, police fatally shot him that afternoon, possibly saving hundreds of lives.

Fox News reports, “Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said the man had ‘plenty of ammunition’ and that evidence suggests he fired multiple rounds, but it wasn’t immediately known if he fired at anyone.”

There were multiple 911 calls to notify emergency responders of the situation. Thankfully, the police got to the store within minutes. The first officers confronted and shot the suspect, saving lives.

Police searched the store after the man was fatally shot. They stated that some people were still hiding in the store but did not find anyone wounded.

The ATF is cooperating with the investigation. They are currently trying to trace the weapon he had to determine if he obtained the gun legally, where from, and other details that investigators need to know. They will also examine whether the weapon was used to commit other crimes.
