The Biden Administration is under attack after a new proposal by the White House is being seen by many as a backdoor attack on hunters.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is expected to release information about what the Biden Administration wants to do regarding restricted equipment related to what hunters can and cannot use. Fox News reports that the expectation is that there will be a major curb on the equipment that hunters can use on federal refuge lands.

Todd Adkins, the Vice President of government affairs for the Sportsmen’s Alliance, a pro-hunting group, spoke with Fox News Digital about the situation and said:

“Raising the cost of hunting, raising the cost of fishing, and raising the cost of our crowd doing their thing is the number one objective, without a doubt, because they know if you make it more expensive, fewer people will do it,”

He continued by saying:

“When it comes to the FWS issuing a ban on various refuges as they expand hunting opportunities — that's all we're really asking,”

“Number one, are you finding specific problems related to lead exposure at specific national wildlife refuges? And number two, have you evaluated the consequences that this ban will have on the users, both hunters and anglers?”

Fox News reports that the Center for Biological Diversity brought a lawsuit in 2021 against the Trump Administration to try to fight against allowing hunters to hunt on over 147 wildlife refuges and national fish hatcheries. A Trump Administration rule would allow hunters access to those grounds. However, the Biden Administration has decided not to defend the rule.

Benjamin Cassidy, the executive Vice President for international government and public affairs at the pro-hunting Safari Club International and a former senior Interior Department official, spoke with Fox News Digital on this story and said the following: “Every year, there’s a hunt and fish rule that comes out at the end of the season,”

and

“When I was in the [Trump] administration, these were big packages to celebrate the opening of access, expanding opportunities for access.”

Cassidy continued by saying:

“Since this administration’s been in, the numbers have shrunk yearly to lower numbers. It's really just kind of been masking tape over what's really been bans,”

and

“We’ve seen millions of acres closed and lead bans being put in place.”

The fact that the Biden Administration has decided to launch this bid against hunters is just the latest sign that they will stop at nothing to take shots at those that they disagree.
