In a recent interview on Dean Obeidallah's SiriusXM show, former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner presented a compelling argument for taking Donald Trump into custody and holding him until his case comes to trial.

Kirschner highlighted the precedent of locking up defendants who are deemed a threat to the community, citing Trump's recent hints about inciting violence as a reasonable basis for special counsel Jack Smith to remove him from public circulation.

During the interview, Obeidallah expressed concern that Trump is becoming increasingly dangerous and poses a threat to the community. Kirschner responded by stating that it would not be unusual for Trump to be detained pending trial. "Donald Trump should be detained pending trial," the former prosecutor asserted. "And I say that not out of personal preference or animosity towards the man."

Kirschner went on to explain that the law stipulates that when there is clear and convincing evidence that a defendant poses a danger to the community, they are supposed to be detained pending trial. "Everyone has ignored that when it comes to Donald Trump," he lamented. "And we do it at our peril. As the system, as the institutions of the government, we are putting ourselves at risk."

To illustrate his point, Kirschner referenced a recent incident where Trump posted President Obama's address, which was then shared by one of his followers, Taylor Taranto, on social media. Taranto subsequently armed himself with two guns, 400 rounds of ammunition, and a machete, and headed towards President Obama's home.
