The Republican National Committee (RNC) recently unveiled the criteria that GOP presidential hopefuls must meet in order to participate in the first primary debate, which will be hosted by Fox News on August 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
To qualify for the debate stage, candidates must achieve a minimum of 1% support in three national polls, or 1% in two national polls and two state-specific polls from the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada. These polls must be recognized by the RNC and conducted on or after July 1.

In addition to the polling requirements, candidates must also garner 40,000 unique donors to their campaign committee, with a minimum of 200 unique donors per state or territory in at least 20 states and/or territories, according to the RNC criteria.

According to the RNC, candidates must submit their fundraising figures at least 48 hours prior to the first debate.
In addition to meeting the criteria mentioned above, candidates are required to sign a pledge committing to support the eventual Republican presidential nominee. They must also agree not to participate in any non-RNC-sanctioned debates for the remainder of the 2024 election cycle and to share their campaign data with the national party committee, as outlined by the RNC last month.
The first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle will be broadcast on Fox News, with online live-streaming provided by Rumble. Young America's Foundation is also partnering in the first debate.
