Elon Musk has called for a constitutional amendment in response to a video that captured Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's freezing episode on Wednesday.

McConnell abruptly halted his speech mid-sentence and stood silently at the podium for an extended period of time. Although McConnell later stated that he was fine, he did not provide an explanation for the incident.

According to an aide from McConnell's office, the senator "felt lightheaded and stepped away for a moment. He came back to handle Q and A, which as everyone observed was sharp."

In reaction to a social media account sharing the video of McConnell's peculiar episode, Musk wrote, "We need a constitutional amendment. This is insane." While Musk did not specify the exact nature of the amendment he was advocating for, his comment came shortly after he engaged in a discussion about age limits in government.

Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon had previously questioned the absence of upper age limits in government positions, stating, "Why do we have minimum age requirements to serve in government, but no upper age limits? I'm not sure where the cutoff should be, but it seems clear 80 is too old." Musk responded to this post by suggesting the implementation of a basic test, such as asking candidates about their job and the current year.

This is not the first time Musk has expressed his views on age limits in politics. In 2021, he tweeted, "Let's set an age limit after which you can't run for political office, perhaps a number just below 70." Last year, he also opined that the legal maximum age for the start of a presidential term should be 69.

Musk's call for a constitutional amendment and his previous statements highlight his belief that there should be age restrictions on individuals seeking political office. While the specifics of his proposed amendment remain unclear, his remarks have sparked a discussion about the role of age in government and the need for potential reforms.
