Social media users expressed skepticism over the White House's claim that President Biden would not issue a pardon for his son, Hunter Biden.

During a press briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about the possibility of a presidential pardon for Hunter Biden, who is currently facing legal issues and federal investigations. When pressed on the matter, Jean-Pierre firmly stated, "No." However, her response did not convince many Twitter users, who questioned the credibility of the statement.

Contributing editor for The Spectator, Stephen Miller, tweeted, "Why would he need to? His own DOJ just tried to slip a blanket immunity deal past a federal judge." Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, echoed this sentiment, saying, "Why would Hunter Biden need to be pardoned when the Department of 'Justice' is actively working to protect the Biden Crime Family?"

Conservative commentator Steve Guest expressed doubt, stating, "No one actually believes Karine Jean-Pierre here." Jennifer Cabrera, editor of the Alachua Chronicle, sarcastically remarked, "Sure, sure..." Miranda Devine, a columnist for the New York Post, advised, "Pin that on the wall." Benjamin Weingarten, editor at large for Real Clear Investigations, questioned, "For which crimes?"

Melissa Mackenzie, publisher of the American Spectator, suggested that the lack of belief in a potential pardon was due to the expectation of a lenient punishment, tweeting, "Uh huh. That's because they're counting on the fact that there's no possibility he gets more than a wrist-slap."

Hunter Biden has recently been charged with two misdemeanor tax charges following a years-long investigation by the Justice Department. While it was anticipated that he would plead guilty to avoid jail time for a felony gun charge, the plea deal was rejected by a federal judge, resulting in a "not guilty" plea. The Justice Department also confirmed that Hunter Biden is currently under federal investigation for potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

Jean-Pierre has consistently avoided and shut down questions regarding Hunter Biden, asserting that he is a "private citizen" and that the situation is a "personal matter."

During a press briefing, she stated, "Hunter Biden is a private citizen, and this was a personal matter for him. As we have said, the President, the first lady, they love their son, and they support him as he continues to rebuild his life." Jean-Pierre has faced criticism for allegedly altering the language surrounding President Biden's involvement with his son. While the President has maintained that he never discussed business deals with Hunter, Jean-Pierre recently claimed that Biden "was never in business" with his son.
