Joe the Plumber, an Air Force veteran and American patriot, is facing a challenging battle against cancer.

However, thanks to the support of BlazeTV host Glenn Beck and his audience, Joe's fight just got a little easier. In a matter of minutes, they helped him exceed his fundraising goal.

Joe Wurzelbacher, also known as Joe the Plumber, gained national attention in 2008 after a chance encounter with then-presidential candidate Barack Obama. At the time, Joe, a single father, expressed concerns about Obama's tax and wealth redistribution policies and how they would impact his financial situation.

Obama acknowledged that Joe's concerns were valid, stating, "It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too... I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody."

After his encounter with Obama, Joe enjoyed a brief period of fame before fading back into obscurity. He later met and married his wife, Katie, and together they had three children.

In January, the Wurzelbacher family received devastating news: Joe had been diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Within months, the cancer had spread to his liver, and by July, chemotherapy had stopped working.

During a recent conversation with Glenn Beck, Joe discussed his health situation. Despite the challenges he faces, he maintains a positive attitude, stating, "You have good days and bad days... But again, I'm here. And I'm grateful for it."

The toll of the disease is evident, as Joe revealed that he has lost over 100 pounds, going from 250 to 146 pounds. In the face of an uncertain future, Joe and Katie have turned to their Christian faith for strength. Joe expressed his belief in miracles but acknowledged the seriousness of pancreatic cancer, stating, "Pancreatic cancer is no joke. And most people unfortunately pass away from it."

In addition to concerns about his prognosis, Joe worries about the well-being of his family if he does not survive. He wants to ensure that his wife and children have the support they need. To address this, Katie established a GiveSendGo fund to help with medical expenses and day-to-day costs. The fund also aims to provide the family with the means to finish their basement, creating a comfortable space for Joe's father, who has his own health challenges and lives with them.

Before the interview with Beck, the GiveSendGo account had raised just over $27,000 of its $50,000 goal. However, within half an hour of being promoted on "The Glenn Beck Program," the account received an overwhelming response, with donations surging to almost $67,000, a $40,000 increase.

Joe expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and generosity he has witnessed since his diagnosis, stating, "There are a lot more good people out there than bad... People want to do good things. And that's been incredible to see."

Beck assured Joe that he need not worry about providing for his family any longer, promising, "Joe, rest assured, if, you know, a miracle doesn't happen, that we're here for Katie and your kids. And we'll make sure that they're taken care of."
