Renowned filmmaker Oliver Stone expressed regret for voting for President Joe Biden and voiced concerns that his leadership may lead the United States into a potential World War 3.

Stone made these remarks during an episode of commentator Russell Brand's talk show "Stay Free" on Rumble. Stone, known for his acclaimed documentaries, including "Ukraine on Fire," discussed the origins of the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe.

In his interview, Stone emphasized the need to delve deeper into the reasons behind the war in Ukraine, cautioning against oversimplification. He highlighted his documentary, "Ukraine on Fire," which explores the 2014 coup d'état that led to the ousting of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, with alleged support from the United States government. According to Stone, this coup was part of a larger plan to infiltrate the Russian Federation.

Stone criticized the presence of neoconservatives within the U.S. government, drawing parallels to the Iraq War. He specifically mentioned figures such as Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who he claimed played significant roles in initiating the conflict. Stone also characterized President Biden as an "old Cold Warrior" who harbors animosity towards the Russian Federation, mistakenly conflating it with the former Soviet Union.

Expressing concern for the future, Stone warned that the United States is on a "suicidal" path that could potentially lead to World War 3. He expressed disappointment in President Biden's leadership, admitting that he had voted for him with the expectation that he would adopt a more measured approach. Stone questioned whether Biden was truly in control of his own administration.

Stone argued that the United States should reconsider its actions, as it risks provoking a confrontation with a power that is unwilling to back down. He highlighted the significance of Ukraine's borders and emphasized that NATO's involvement in the region is a complex issue that should not be oversimplified.

The filmmaker also shed light on the ethnic complexities of the conflict, noting that the United States' allies in the region are vehemently anti-Russian. He pointed out that ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine have been seeking autonomy since 2014, a fact that he believes is often overlooked by the media.

Stone claimed that a negotiation for ethnic Russian autonomy was close to being reached at the start of the war in 2022, but the United States allegedly thwarted the deal, suggesting a lack of interest in pursuing peace and granting autonomy to Donetsk and Lugansk.

Stone concluded by expressing his pessimism about the situation, predicting that it will continue to deteriorate. He warned that the United States is being drawn into a volatile conflict reminiscent of the Balkans in World War 1.
