According to the arrest report obtained by Fox 5 Vegas, Ma's body had likely been in the closet for approximately two months. Bone allegedly kept the air conditioning at a chilly 60 degrees to deter flies and because he was afraid of going back to jail. He reportedly believed that Ma might come back to life, similar to a scene from the movie "The Grudge," and had placed a cooler near the closet door to alert him if she did.
The investigation was prompted by a concerned family member who noticed suspicious activities, including 84 missed incoming calls. As the family member called 911, Bone casually brushed his teeth while speaking to Ma's family. According to the report, Bone's demeanor was described as "nonchalant," and he allegedly admitted to not calling 911 because he believed he would be arrested "for being a person of color."

Bone led Ma's family members to the master bedroom of their Las Vegas home, where he showed them her body in the closet and insinuated that she had died by suicide. However, inconsistencies in Bone's alibi were pointed out by investigators, leading him to request legal representation. The interview ended at that point.
During Bone's first court appearance on July 27, a judge denied bond. He is scheduled to return to court on August 1.
