Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos De Oliveira, who is involved in the classified documents case with former President Trump, was released on a $100,000 bond.

However, his arraignment has not yet taken place.

De Oliveira appeared in court on Monday at the James L. King Federal Courthouse in Miami. Federal prosecutors recently accused him of instructing another unnamed Trump employee to delete security footage at the Palm Beach property.

Last week, De Oliveira was added to the indictment alongside Trump and the ex-president's valet, Walt Nauta. He is facing charges including conspiracy to obstruct justice and lying to investigators.

During his court appearance, a magistrate judge in Miami's federal court read the charges against De Oliveira. The judge also ordered him to surrender his passport and sign an agreement to pay $100,000 if he fails to appear in court. De Oliveira's arraignment is scheduled for August 10 in Fort Pierce.

Similar to Nauta, De Oliveira's arraignment was delayed because he has not yet been able to secure a South Florida attorney, as required by the district.

These developments in the classified documents case come as Trump awaits possible charges in another federal investigation related to his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.

Trump, who is currently a front-runner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race, claimed to have received a letter from special counsel Jack Smith indicating that he is a target of that investigation. Trump's legal team met with Smith's team last week. In June, Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 counts in the classified documents case and has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

In a post on his social media platform, TRUTH Social, Trump asserted that the Mar-a-Lago security tapes were not deleted and were actually handed over to individuals he referred to as "thugs" led by Smith.

Nauta has also pleaded not guilty. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon had previously scheduled the trial of Trump and Nauta to begin in May, but it remains uncertain whether De Oliveira's inclusion in the case will impact the timeline.

The latest unsealed indictment, revealed on Thursday, alleges that Trump attempted to have security footage deleted after investigators visited Mar-a-Lago in June 2022 to collect classified documents that Trump had taken with him after leaving the White House. Trump was already facing numerous felony counts, including willful retention of national defense information, stemming from allegations that he mishandled government secrets that he was entrusted to protect as commander-in-chief.

According to prosecutors, a few days after the Justice Department subpoenaed video footage at Mar-a-Lago from the Trump Organization in June 2022, De Oliveira asked an information technology staffer about the server's retention period for footage. He allegedly told the employee that "the boss" wanted it deleted. When the employee expressed doubt about being able to do so, De Oliveira insisted that the "boss" wanted it done and asked, "What are we going to do?"

Prosecutors claim that shortly after the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago and discovered classified records in the storage room and Trump's office, Nauta called a Trump employee and made a statement along the lines of "someone just wants to make sure Carlos is good." The indictment states that the employee responded by affirming De Oliveira's loyalty and assuring that he would not do anything to jeopardize his relationship with Trump. On the same day, Trump allegedly called De Oliveira directly to inform him that he would provide him with an attorney.

Prosecutors further allege that De Oliveira later lied during interviews with investigators, falsely stating that he had not seen any boxes being moved into Mar-a-Lago after Trump's departure from the White House.
