Former President Trump may be required to take a mug shot if he is indicted in the ongoing case against him in Fulton County, Georgia.

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat announced on Wednesday that his department is preparing for Trump's potential indictment, which would be his fourth. Labat stated that if the grand jury hands down an indictment, Trump will be required to give his fingerprints and take a mug shot. Labat emphasized that regardless of one's status, their normal practices will be followed, and a mugshot will be prepared.

Trump is already facing three indictments, including charges related to the handling of classified documents, hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, and his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Washington, D.C. However, in none of these cases has Trump been handcuffed or required to take a mug shot. Instead, he has traveled to the relevant courthouse in his own motorcade and submitted himself to authorities.

The investigation led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been ongoing since early 2021. Willis is examining whether Trump and his allies violated any state laws in their attempts to overturn his narrow election loss in Georgia to now-President Biden. The investigation was initiated after Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in January 2021 and suggested that Raffensperger could help him find enough improperly cast votes for Biden to invalidate the election results in the state.

In mid-July, Trump attempted to have Willis' investigation dismissed, but the Georgia Supreme Court unanimously rejected his request. The case continues to unfold, and if Trump is indicted, he will be required to undergo the standard procedures, including taking a mug shot.
