In a recent interaction, Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host and co-founder of the Daily Caller, candidly explained to ex-CNN host Chris Cuomo his reasons for frequently criticizing him on his primetime show.

Carlson admitted that his disdain for CNN was the primary driver behind his actions, even though it occasionally left him feeling "a little dirty."

Carlson's blunt response to Cuomo's query about his motivations was, "Because I’m a dick, probably. Because I don’t like CNN. And I really mean that, in my heart of hearts, I really … I don’t know." This exchange highlighted the tension between the two media personalities, with Cuomo expressing surprise at the intensity and frequency of Carlson's criticisms.

Cuomo, seeking to understand Carlson's motivations, asked, "How can you not know? It was so intentional, frequent. Did it feel good to come after me?" To this, Carlson responded, "I felt a little dirty. You know I’m not really a dirty good guy. You know what I mean? The cameras aren’t picking up all the people sitting here. But, I mean in the sense that. You know, I don’t want to use any kind of sexual metaphor, but there is one for this. It’s like something you shouldn’t be doing. But there’s kind of the animal thrill of doing something wrong. I guess that’s what I would say."

Carlson, who was a regular critic of Cuomo on his show, parted ways with Fox News in April 2023. He has since established his own media platform, the Tucker Carlson Network (TCN), where he shares interviews and exclusive content.

Cuomo, on the other hand, found a new home at NewsNation, hosting his own show after being dismissed from CNN in December 2021 due to a conflict of interest. He had been advising his brother, former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, during the sexual misconduct scandals that led to his resignation in August 2021.

Interestingly, Carlson disclosed that Cuomo was among the first to reach out to him after his departure from Fox News. Cuomo revealed that he received calls from a few individuals after his own dismissal, but none from those associated with the CNN brand. Reflecting on their shared experiences, Carlson commented, "It never ends well. I mean, it doesn’t. It always ends in tears. These relationships with these media companies. I’ve lived it."
