Amy Schumer Had To Fight For Goldie Hawn To Be Cast In Snatched

Written by  Cinemablend

One female comedian who has risen to massive popularity and acclaim over the past year or so is Amy Schumer. Following her years at Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer, Schumer became a bonafide movie star by writing and starring in Trainwreck; the film introduced her to mainstream audiences and even earned her a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.

You'd think this would give her some serious pull in future projects, but now it appears she hit a few bumps while working on the upcoming comedy Snatched. Namely, that she had to fight for co-star Goldie Hawn's casting.

Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn recently spoke to EW in order to publicize for Snatched. And it turns out that certain producers weren't fond of Hawn playing the lead role of Linda. They said:

Goldie Hawn: They didn't want me in the beginning.

Amy Schumer: I said, 'Over my dead body Goldie is not going to be in this movie.'

This is a pretty wild story. Part of what makes Snatched such an exciting prospect is the combination of Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn's particular talents and comedic timing. With other actresses, it likely wouldn't be quite as buzz worthy.
