Trump’s EPA Grants Flint $100 Million To Fix Broken Water System

Written by  Chris White

The Environmental Protection Agency awarded Michigan $100 million to help replace Flint’s badly eroded and damaged water infrastructure.

The funding was provided by the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act of 2016 and enables the beleaguered city to replace its decaying lead water pipes.

Michigan is providing the required 20 percent match of $20 million.

The fix is part of the Trump administration’s goal of updating the country’s water infrastructure, EPA administrator Scott Pruitt said Friday in a press statement.

“The people of Flint and all Americans deserve a more responsive federal government,” he said. “EPA will especially focus on helping Michigan improve Flint’s water infrastructure as part of our larger goal of improving America’s water infrastructure.”

Michigan Democrats and Republicans praised the EPA’s decision to infuse money into the dilapidated city’s broken water supply.

“We are excited and very grateful to receive these much-needed funds,” said Flint Mayor Karen Weaver. “The City of Flint being awarded a grant of this magnitude in such a critical time of need will be a huge benefit.”

Michigan officials and Flint residents have been struggling to get the small, mostly black town’s water system up and running after lead contaminated its water supply.

Officials switched the small Eastern Michigan city’s water supply from Lake Huron in 2015 to the Flint River in a bid to save money.

Why Flint, Michigan. That is the City in Michigan that has been taken over by the muslims and their sharia laws. Give this money to a City that is still run by people who believe in our Constitution. Is this part of the EPA criminals who want our Country taken over by the musssslimes (spelling intentional)? President Trump, you really need to get the musslime out of the EPA.

There's probably a 100 Flints back east where they still use lead and iron pipes over 100 years old.

If providing Flint with the funds to fix the water supply, through the EPA, is true, then, kudos to the Trump Administration. If only Trump would keep his mouth shut(and if he does not, let's get rid of him) then people would not have to wade through so much garbage to get to the good however miniscule. We don't have the stamina to brace ourselves against his mean spirited opinions and lies.

I'm a fraid it ain't gonna happen. Neither!!

Another great chance for the crooked government of Detroit to line their pockets. They can't even manage the budget and are broke. This problem will not get fixed by throwing money at the criminals that run that city.

I'm quite certain that President Trump is going to make sure that the money goes to where he intended for it to go by having the accounting department keeping track of the expenditures and the repairs, not into the state or local democrats coffers.

5 to 1 on the dollar.........How much oversight is being insisted on to account for the ...grant? This sounds like a premeditated scam from the left to see if this administration will bite on it.....

The problem with this is the democrat party ;machinery; is soooo corrupt it's like a reward to them for their jihadi ways that created this mess. You cannot let them get their hands on a penny of it. As proof.. just make it so they can't, and they will have no desire whatsoever to 'fix it'. They would rather do their standard 'government shutdown" ploy than risk losing their grip on the money they plan to pilfer.. Wait for another day and another 'obama' that will run their ruse for them..

That evil President Trump. The nerve, giving Flint $100 MILLION to provide clean water to the citizens. He doesn't care for the people like the democrats who caused the problem in the first place. President Trump should be impeached for this blatant disregard of democrat administrations and policies.

Bravo! How DARE this eccentric, tyrannical billionaire - whose real motive is to put a lien on the White House and to AMALGAMATE it into his Goldfinger-like real estate empire - AND if that wasn't all - to graft money to Putin in a roundabout way in order to manipulate ME, as if I am his PUPPET! I stand with our brave commentator and Senator Charles "The Chuckler" Schumer (" . . . A person with the wits and humor and satirical mentality of a thousand people put together.") against this WHITE-GUCCI-LOAFER of a FAKE president.

I hope that the Feds are keeping a close eye on how the money is spent. I am not criticizing the City of Flint management but, we are all too aware of the methods that some politicians have used to enrich themselves and their friends on the tax payers dollars
