A Quarter of American Beer Drinkers Say They’re Switching to Pot

Written by  Time.com

As legalization of marijuana grows throughout the United States, so does its popularity with beer drinkers.

About one in four Americans are now spending their money on marijuana instead of beer, new research from Cannabiz Consumer Group found.

Twenty-seven percent of beer consumers are legally purchasing cannabis instead of beer, or suggested they would purchase it instead if it were legalized in their state. The research group surveyed 40,000 Americans last year.

About 24.6 million Americans legally purchased pot in the U.S. last year and that number is expected to grow, according to the study. Numerous states have legalized marijuana for medical purposes, and a smaller number of states have legalized it for recreational use. The Department of Justice under the Obama Administration relaxed federal enforcement of marijuana laws in states where it is legal, but the Trump Administration may reverse that trend.

Still, the group predicts the cannabis industry will grow to $50 billion. The U.S. beer market sells over $100 billion in beer each year, according to the National Beer Wholesalers Association.

The snack stocks will do well...and the businesses that depend on dumb and Dumber stoners. The pot that's being sold now is far more potent. The dangerous drugs that do the most harm, Meth, Heroin, Bath salts, Psychotropic and Pharma meds need to be suppressed as much as possible. My brother died from Meth, My wife's brother died from Heroin.

Anybody that thinks up this kind of survey already has the conclusion in mind. In other words more fake news from the dumbasses in the leftstream media.

Pot has four times as much tar as tobacco. How much tar do you get from beer ? I am not a beer drinker, so I would not know. My students complain about their parents smoking pot in the same room and they are not interested in pot.

I guess you are "attaching" yourself to them around their "exhaust pipe", right? That way your little leftist heart would mellow out quite nicely, I imagine. Moron!

Just because the state legalized, or decriminalized Marijuana does not make it okay on a drug screening. Spare me the moral equivelancy rant, even Stoners would prefer non-stoners for employees. *Weed is a lot more sustaining in its numbing affect, and habitual users do not perform well against non-users. Sadly the trend toward legalization allows the false narrative that it is innocent fun.
*Remember when you are laughing at Cheech & Chong what the premise is- and they made it big when dope was significantly less potent than it is now.
