Trump won’t block Comey’s testimony about Russia probe

President Trump will not try to block fired former FBI director James Comey from testifying before Congress on Thursday about Russia meddling into the election, the White House said Monday.

“The president’s power to exert executive privilege is very well established.

However, in order to facilitate a swift examination of the facts sought by the intelligence committee, President Trump will not assert executive privilege regarding James Comey’s scheduled testimony,” spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said.

Trump fired Comey on May 9, telling Russian officials later that that axing the FBI chief took pressure off him.

Trump reportedly asked Comey to drop an FBI investigation into ex-national security director Mike Flynn, and also sought a pledge of loyalty from the former top G-man.

Were this Obammy he would have done everything he could to stop him. Had Hillary been in office she too would have kept Comey from talking.

Mr Comey has lost all sense of creditability over the past year and anything he says now is suspect and appears to be in direct opposition to his past "statements'.
