US charging 412 in health fraud schemes worth $1.3 billion

Written by  Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. prosecutors announced Thursday that they have charged more than 400 people with taking part in health care fraud and opioid scams that totaled $1.3 billion in false billing.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions called the collective action the "largest health care fraud takedown operation in American history" and said it indicates that some doctors, nurses and pharmacists "have chosen to violate their oaths and put greed ahead of their patients."

Among those charged are six Michigan doctors accused of a scheme to prescribe unnecessary opioids. A Florida rehab facility is alleged to have recruited addicts with gift cards and visits to strip clubs, leading to $58 million in false treatments and tests.

Officials said those charged in the schemes include more than 120 people involved in prescribing and distributing narcotics.

"They seem oblivious to the disastrous consequences of their greed. Their actions not only enrich themselves, often at the expense of taxpayers, but also feed addictions and cause addictions to start," Sessions said in prepared remarks.

Sessions said in his remarks that nearly 300 health care providers are being suspended or banned from participating in federal health care programs.

The Justice Department said the people charged were illegally billing Medicare, Medicaid, and the health insurance program that serves members of the armed forces, retired service members and their families.

The mother of all frauds is the Fed Ponzi scam and the pentagon that lost Trillions probably Black Ops funding they can tell us little people about but they'll have to kill us.

1.3 Billion is a lot of money.
I'll bet some expensive houses and cars will be repossessed.
And I predict there will be just a few criminal charges, and many bankruptcies.

About dang time. People have been bilking this government a long time. Glad Trump and his associates are reining this kind of behavior in. Try the Medicaid rolls next. A lot of people got on it during Obama's time in office who should not have been approved. It originally was only meant for indigent, elderly and the disabled.

As always follow the money. I am sure when they trace it back that a lot of us will not be surprised who's campaign/foundation these people contributed to. I hope when they do trace it back to any government officials pockets the money is seized from them and they are charged as accessories.

Now you see why Soros is involved with U.S. Government. His fingerprints are allover $100 Billions/year of stuff like this.
Maybe untraceable on this one, but the democrat party/soros have 1,00s of schemes just like this.
What we need is a "CORRUPTION POSSE" where the private sector is "Deputized" to go after all of this stuff. It is everywhere, and the democrats have a 2-prong ideology.... Theft, and taking down the system in order to break it. And you can bet the islamo-fascists/jihadis are headlong involved..
Under obama/holder/jarret/soros this has skyrocketed to an unfathomable level.
The solution is: UNLEASH THE PRIVATE SECTOR,with powerful authority.. ! ! !

1.3 billion cost to taxpayers to support thousands of drug addicts for 8 years and 1.4 billion cost to taxpayers to support 4 Obama's in the White House for one year. I hope Sessions sends a clear message to all the criminals.
