Trump Rounds Up His 36% Approval Rating to 'Almost 40%' -- 'Not Bad,' He Tweets

Written by  Susan Jones

(CNSNews.com) - President Donald Trump's "historically low" approval rating led the liberal cable news shows on Monday morning, hours after Trump sent out a flurry of tweets, dismissing the poll, slamming "fake news," and discussing his plans for the week ahead.

On Sunday, an ABC News/Washington Post poll gave Trump a 36 percent approval rating, the lowest at the six-month mark for any president in 70 years of polling. ABC also noted that the 36 percent approval rating is down six points from where it was 100 days into the Trump presidency. Trump tweeted on Sunday: "The ABC/Washington Post Poll, even though almost 40% is not bad at this time, was just about the most inaccurate poll around election time!" The Russian influence story dominated the Sunday talk shows, with various guests and hosts focusing on the meeting Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort had with a Russian lawyer and several others during the campaign. The issue was clearly on the President's mind as he attended the U.S. Women's Open, hosted by his Bedminster, N.J. golf club. "Hillary Clinton can illegally get the questions to the Debate & delete 33,000 emails but my son Don is being scorned by the Fake News Media?" he tweeted before attending the golf tournament.
