“If it’s, let’s say, September 5, September 10, the Mets are 20 games behind the Nationals, looking at sagging attendance, we know that a guy like Tim Tebow with a home series – let’s say a six, seven game homestand – would definitely boost gate sales,” said Pedro Gomez. “Don’t put anything past the Wilpons when it comes to them overruling the baseball operations people and saying, ‘No, we’re going to do this.’”
New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson, on Friday, said he doesn’t envision calling Tim Tebow up in September when rosters expand to 40 players in the Major League.
“‘Never crossed my mind until about 10 days ago when somebody said it was likely to happen,’ Alderson told reporters Friday,” reported ESPN. “‘I don't foresee that kind of scenario.’”
