Bruce 'Caitlyn' Jenner Says He Is Considering a Senate Run

Written by  Michael W. Chapman

(CNSNews.com) -- Former Olympian and transgender reality-TV star Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner said he “would look for a Senate run” during a Sunday radio interview with AM 970 The Answer’s host John Castimatidis.

"I like the political side of it,” said Jenner, reportedly a long-time Republican. “The political side of it has always been very intriguing to me.”

Jenner said his main political goal is to change the perception of the Republican Party.

“In the United States, the perception of the Democrats is that they are pro-equality, pro-LGBT and this and that, and the perception of the Republican Party is that they are all about rich white guys trying to make money,” Jenner said.

“I would hope, in the next generation, because it will take a generation for it to change, that we can change the perception of the Republican Party and make it the party of equality,” said Jenner. “If you can do that, if you can be socially aware of what’s going on but be conservative economically, that’s the way to go.”

Jenner also told Castimatidis that he had plans to sit down with U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley on Sunday to discuss the international ramifications of being involved in the LGBT community.
