Report: McConnell, Trump Relationship ‘Disintegrated,’ Have Not Spoken In Weeks After ‘Shouting Match’ Phone Call

Written by  Penny Starr

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, thinks so little of President Donald Trump as their relationship has “disintegrated” that he wonders whether Trump’s presidency can survive after a series of setbacks in recent months, per a new report from the New York Times.

The Times’ Alex Burns and Jonathan Martin wrote late Tuesday:

The relationship between President Trump and Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, has disintegrated to the point that they have not spoken to each other in weeks, and Mr. McConnell has privately expressed uncertainty that Mr. Trump will be able to salvage his administration after a series of summer crises. What was once an uneasy governing alliance has curdled into a feud of mutual resentment and sometimes outright hostility, complicated by the position of Mr. McConnell’s wife, Elaine L. Chao, in Mr. Trump’s cabinet, according to more than a dozen people briefed on their imperiled partnership. Angry phone calls and private badmouthing have devolved into open conflict, with the president threatening to oppose Republican senators who cross him, and Mr. McConnell mobilizing to their defense.

The report, filled with explosive details, spells trouble for the two GOP heavyweights walking into a month of serious major political maelstroms with the debt ceiling, spending bill, tax reform, and a retry at healthcare looming–among other fights.

Mitch the Bitch is the problem. He is letting the Dems stall everything from appointments to major legislation simply because he has been in the Senate longer than any other Republican, It's high time the rules need to be thrown out the window and new rules written. The seniority rule needs to go secondly the 60 vote rule needs to be changed to a simple majority rule. Congressional leaders need to be voted on by secret ballot not simply get the job based on seniority. It's time for a new way and a new day. Time to lead, follow or get the hell out of the way. So Mitch the Bitch since you can't support the president then it is time to get the hell out of the way.

McConnell as the Senate leader has done absolutely nothing to support the American people nor getting the Senate to vote on important issues. He's had 7 years to work on obamacare but hasn't done a darned thing. He's had 7 years to come up with a favorable tax plan but again hasn't done anything. Now, he's against the wall being built to keep illegals and terrorists from entering our country. These are key issues that got President Trump elected and yet good old Mitch is doing his best to screw the American voter and throw Trump out of office. He's a disgrace along with a few other Republican Senators and has no business being in office. We need to march on Washington and burn them in effigy.

Perhaps it's mcconnell that may not survive? He has shown that his "leadership" in the senate is not in the best interest of the Americans that voted in the election. Either he gets on board or gets out of the way of America. But it's the other republicans in the senate and his state's voters that have to take action.

Mitch started the ball rolling bytelling Trump on National TV that 7 years was not long enough for Politicians in DC to act on a health care bill!!!
