WH Calls ESPN Host’s Comments about Trump ‘Outrageous’ and ‘A Fireable Offense’

(CNSNews.com) - The White House weighed in Wednesday on ESPN host Jemele Hill calling the president “a white supremacist,” saying it sounds like “a fireable offense.” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked for a reaction to Hill’s comments and whether President Donald Trump was aware of her comment.

“I’m not sure if he’s aware, but I think that's one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make, and certainly something that I think is a fireable offense by ESPN,” Sanders said. As CNSNews.com reported, Hill went on a Twitter tirade against the president, saying, “Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists.” She also called Trump “the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime,” calling his rise “a direct result of white supremacy.” “He has surrounded himself with white supremacists -- no they are not ‘alt right’ -- and you want me to believe he isn't a white supremacist?” Hill tweeted. She called Trump “unqualified and unfit to be president." “He is not a leader. And if he were not white, he never would have been elected,” Hill concluded. The ESPN network issued a statement via Twitter, saying, “The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN.
