Leftist FAIL: Californians Favor Private School Vouchers

Written by  Michael Horn

It turns out that even liberal Californians want taxpayer-funded vouchers for private and religious schools, according to a poll released Wednesday by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC)

The eye-openingpoll states 60 percent of adults favor “providing parents with tax-funded vouchers to send their children to any public, private, or parochial school they choose.

” Breitbart has more:

Among registered voters, 55 percent favor vouchers, and, among likely voters, 50 percent favor vouchers.

Among adults, the survey finds 73 percent of African Americans, 69 percent of Latinos, 56 percent of Asian Americans, and 51 percent of White Americans favor school vouchers. Republicans are more likely to favor school vouchers than Democrats, 67 percent to 46 percent.

In terms of how Californians feel about their public schools in toto, the grades were generally positive, with 54 percent giving the schools an A (22 percent) or B (32 percent). Only 7 percent gave an F, indicating that Californians still have a long way to go.

“Most Californians give passing grades to their local public schools,” said Mark Baldassare, PPIC president and CEO. “But many believe that the state isn’t spending enough money on K–12 education and should also spend what it has more wisely.

Lefties care about their kids and they want them taught reality. Hence, they know vouchers are essential.

The Democrats are against Private Schools because, they don't teach students Communism as their Religion like Public Schools do.

The Dems are against vouchers because they depend on the Teachers Union!
Why would ANYONE deny a child a better education? There is no "extra" $$ involved. The state (states)
are given a specific amount for each child. The Money should follow the child!
It really is quite simple!
Now the Education Sec. should look at public schools, rate them and give them improvement choices.
If the school gets a failing grade, then funding is withheld until improvements are made.

Vouchers is the answer to so many educational problems. Vouchers given to parents who home school would be a huge improvement.

Instruct the kids in etymology, Latin and in Economics. The first lesson: "Society owes you nothing!"

Yep, the lefty Hollywood lead elite don't know what's good for the lowly working tax paying families in Cali. They the elite can care for their families in private education. And then have the governmental system feed the little people, public school PC garbage.

Time to make school tax optional so we don't have to support out of control and poorly performing school districts. Students and teachers can opt out of showing respect for our flag, country, President, laws, and Constitution. Tax payers should be able to opt out of supporting school districts that offend them.
It's about using economic power to reign in out of control school boards, administrators, and teachers unions. Remove the source of their power over us.

You can be sure that Venezfornia won't put the school voucher plan up for a vote. If they did and it was voted for the corrupt Venezfornia politicians would ignore the vote and the voice of the people just like they did with Proposition 8 when the majority of Californians voted in favor of common sense marriage between one man and one woman. The politicians told we the people in Venezfornia that they are the arbiters of right and wrong and that the peoples voice meant nothing. The fundamental transformation of America is nothing more than a plan to tear up our Constitution and ignore the will of the people.

So true...as they did with Proposition 187, the courts said we didn't know how we were voting!

This means that the Mexicans can now have their own schools; Muslims can have their Madrassas and skinheads can begin military training in the 3rd grade.

That sounds more like a leftist win - more handouts. Private school vouchers will be the end of the public education system. Rich people send their kids to private schools because they don't want their kids mixing with the "great unwashed". When you try to use a voucher to get your kid in they will just keep raising the cost until you can't afford it. Then you will have no schools.

Really? I sent my kids to private school because I didnt like the public schools, too much leftist propaganda, to many stupid experimental education policies and too many kids just taking up space. Im not rich , far from it but you have to do whats right for the kids.
How do figure its the end of public schools? if the school is doing well, the kids are happy and the education is good then people will use their vouchers for those schools , if the school is crappy then they wont
it will be the end of overpriced mediocre education and very likely the end of the teachers union, good riddance to both, competition is what made America great and its about time the left and the unions were put in their place

Rich people don't live near ghettos. How many riots in Los Angeles saw the riots in rich neighborhoods? Think grasshopper.

When all the kids are put on vouchers where do you think the kids from the ghetto will go? I lived through the ghetto kids in the schools - there are some who actually want to learn but about 90% just disrupt classes and bring the education system down.

Mexifornian's like vouchers They've gotten used to them, having accepted worthless IOU's from Jerry Brown for years....
