Brat's remarks came hours after President Donald Trump posted on Twitter and attacked the HFC: "The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don't get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!"
Brat was not deterred by the President's tweet. "I don't take it as a threat. All the conservative commentators know this bill is polling at 17%," he responded.
He touted that his fellow HFC members were close to supporting the bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare. "We all ran on exactly the themes the President ran on," he said. "We're with him, but someone's gotten into his ear. And yesterday, right, two days ago, the Senate also -- I can't believe this wasn't covered by the news -- Republican leadership in the Senate said they're not going to repeal ObamaCare in this process.Read more at NewsBusters
