Judge Rules in Favor of School Forcing Conservative Prof to Apologize for Political Views

Written by  Trey Sanchez

A judge in Wisconsin voted in favor of the suspension of a Marquette University conservative professor who was asked to confess his guilt and apologize for his political views.

Here's some background from a previous TruthRevolt report:

Because one of its professors defended a student's view of traditional marriage against a leftist philosophy instructor deeming it homophobic, Marquette University has threatened the conservative professor's job unless he confesses "guilt" for being "reckless" and causing "harm" to the offended instructor.

This incident dates back to November of 2014, when Professor John McAdams wrote a blog post chiding instructor Cheryl Abbate for trying to silence one of her students by telling him "some opinions are not appropriate." The exchange was secretly recorded by the student and McAdams was able to hear what was said and included those quotes in his blog…

“Abbate, of course, was just using a tactic typical among liberals now. Opinions with which they disagree are not merely wrong, and are not to be argued against on their merits, but are deemed ‘offensive’ and need to be shut up.”

McAdams was put on paid suspension over the blog post, and has so far refused to comply with the university’s demands to get his job back.

And just where is Marquette's view of freedom of speech. Let us get a little real here folks,
cause lots of us believe in traditional marriage and we are homophobic or anything else!
Did Marquette and/or the judge order the "harmed" professor to apologize to the student? How aabout apologizing to the Unharmed professor. If I were him, I would sue!

Meant to say we are NOT homophobic - sorry

Again, we see what liberals mean by "freedom of speech" and "diversity". All consenting adults have the right to marry whomever they choose, regardless of gender, but, equally, all people have the right to express belief or disbelief in those rights -- so long as they don't attempt to prohibit the practice.

Then no professor has the right to say "it is okay to be gay". That would be an influence towards those that are against it and they should not be allowed to teach or speak about what is and/or isn't moral values. I do not agree with the lgbtq morals or values and you do, so automatically I am wrong and a homophobic? Why are you not wrong and a sick, demoralizing pervert?

Does the 'offended instructor' have to apologize fro his political views as well? If not he/she should be fired now..

I am a liberal/ who is close to being a radical. I also am a civil libertarian who believes all views should be aired. Although I am Jewish I extend this belief even to anti-semites. Total freedom of expression ends up letting persons with repugnant views embarrass themselves.

Yes, such as the Apartheid-based comments of the constituency of the false religion, Judaism, which is based on deceit and lies.

Where is the oversight from the DOJ, a liberal school backed by a liberal judge to promote liberal manifesto. Freedom rings rejoice Wanda Sykes. ty Toledo Sgt

The professor is right and the Judge is an IDIOT. The school is the one who should be apologizing. The judge is too STUPID for anyone's good and should be removed from the bench and disbarred for life.

The liberals have filled our schools and also the courts with people that will force their communistic "values" upon America. This has to be reversed if America is to survive.

i, think you need to quit calling demons as liberals and face reality. the spiritual battle is, far more dangerous than an any physical battle.

This insanity and legislating from the bench with these marxist/commie rulings has to stop. I applaud this professor for standing up....real Americans have his back! We American can make a change...with our $$$$ do not support any of these commie schools.....Hillsdale and Liberty U have need of our students and $$$$....let the others disintegrate.

Someday Judges who abuse their power, and ignore what is right, will have to be..... JUDGED ......by God. They will be judged more harshly than those who had no power. An abuse of authority will not be tolerated!

How can we get rid of a plethora of such insane un-American judges
This one should spend a year in jail with Bubba and no condoms!

This Judge should apologize to the public for having a long nose unbalancing the front of his head with his brain area. Mr. Judge, there is a difference between an arbitrary decision and a judicial decision.

I would never appollogize for my opinion to an employer. I have the right to my opinion and to back it up the same as anyone else. If the employer is offended, that is the employers problem and not mine. The judge is wrong. The first amendment applies to this professors speech.

Actually, Donald, whether the First Amendment applies or not is determined by the type of employer. The First Amendment applies only to Governmental activities, and if Marquette is a private college, which I believe it is, then the university does have the right to restrict freedom of speech of its employees and students. That, of course, doesn't make it fair or reasonable.

Look up Convention of States. It is the only way to go to get this country back on course.

A little here and a little there, bit by bit our freedoms and especially our freedom of expression and speech are being taken away from us or silenced. The liberal ideaology through out the land but more so in our facilities of education need to be put an end to as it is a desease very similar to cancer, it will continue to eat away at the fabric that holds this country together until the country finally succumbs from the rot.
