In a recent incident that has sparked controversy, Heather Mullins, a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, alleges that she was subjected to discrimination on an American Airlines flight due to her 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) hat.

Mullins, who is an independent journalist, shared her experience on social media, claiming that a flight attendant deliberately overlooked her while serving drinks during a first-class journey from Detroit to Philadelphia.

According to the Daily Mail, Mullins, who has a following of over 111,000 on social media, has been a vocal supporter of Trump for several years. She has often shared posts featuring her MAGA cap, including one from April where she was seen wearing the hat on another flight. American Airlines has not yet responded to the allegations.

Mullins' social media post read, "I've worn my MAGA hat every time I've flown for the last four years and got thousands of fist bumps. NEVER got any hate. Well, there's a first time for everything. I just had the flight attendant for @AmericanAirlines SKIP ME in first class when asking everyone if they wanted a drink!!"

The independent journalist, who began her reporting career seven years ago after working on 2016 Presidential candidate Gary Johnson's campaign, further detailed the incident. She stated, "She asked the guy next to me and then walked away. I thought it was odd she didn't ask me. So when she came back I asked her if I could get a drink, and in the nastiest voice, she was like 'No. I'll be back for you,' and proceeded to serve the people behind me. They were then in shock. I was the last one to get served. And now everyone on the plane is floored and talking about it."

In a subsequent post, Mullins detailed her unsuccessful attempt to file a complaint with the airline, citing bureaucratic hurdles. She wrote, "Tried to file a complaint during my layover. First woman said I needed to call a Supervisor. Supervisor told me it would be over an hour to get a manager and to go to the website. When I tried recording her instructions she got upset and called a customer service manager. He then called an 'inflight' manager or something who said they couldn't come down. I was given the CSR managers business card and told to fill out a report at the website he wrote on the back."

As the incident continued to gain attention, Mullins shared further details, including the flight number, route, and the flight attendant's unique employer ID. She described the attendant as an "older Asian woman."

The following morning, Mullins shared another update, this time including a video of her attempt to submit a complaint at an American Airlines kiosk. She expressed her lack of confidence in the complaint process, stating, "When I tried submitting a complaint I got the runaround. Ultimately told to go to the website. I'll do that today but I'm not confident anything will get done."

In a subsequent post, Mullins identified the flight attendant she claimed was responsible for the alleged discrimination. She stated, "Here’s the flight attendant that didn’t want to serve me a drink because I was wearing a MAGA hat. Someone from @AmericanAir just called, apologized, and said they are putting in the complaint and notifying the inflight management. He said ultimately I won’t know what actions they take on her. It could be a “don’t do this again”, or if she has a history of issues, she could be let go. But I won’t be notified."

Despite the growing online attention, American Airlines has not publicly responded to Mullins's complaints. Mullins, a former insurance broker based in New England, gained prominence in 2017 after starting work as a reporter for News2Share, a DC-based outfit founded by a former Fox News reporter. She later joined RealAmericasVoice, an outlet known for its conservative-backed conspiracy theories, before branching out on her own. Her social media presence is largely dedicated to supporting the former President.
