In a recent development, 16 Nobel laureates in economics have issued a warning about the potential economic repercussions if former President Donald Trump were to regain the presidency and implement his economic policies.

This move mirrors a previous incident where 51 current and former intelligence officials signed a letter alleging that the Hunter Biden laptop scandal was a product of Russian disinformation, according to RedState.

The process is straightforward. A group of experts, often with left-leaning ideologies, endorse a statement. The media then disseminates this as the definitive stance on the matter. This pattern is repeating itself, with CNN reporting on the economists' letter without acknowledging the partisan composition of the group.

CNN's Kate Bolduan and Matt Egan presented a report on the economists' letter, which expressed anxiety about a potential Trump victory and its potential detrimental impact on the economy. The report failed to mention the partisan affiliations of some of the signatories, including the spouse of Janet Yellin.

The letter, signed by 16 of the world's most distinguished economists, all Nobel laureates, warns that a Trump victory in the upcoming election could fuel inflation. "Many Americans are concerned about inflation, which has come down remarkably fast. There is rightly a worry that Donald Trump will reignite this inflation, with his fiscally irresponsible budgets," the letter reads. Among the signatories are Joseph Stiglitz, a Columbia University professor and 2001 Nobel laureate in economics, and Yale professor Robert Shiller, who won the Nobel prize for economics in 2013.

The claims made by Stiglitz and his colleagues warrant scrutiny. The assertion that Trump's "fiscally irresponsible budgets" could trigger inflation is a classic case of projection. If Trump were to return to the presidency, it is highly unlikely that any budget he proposes would be approved due to the current partisan divisions in Congress.

Furthermore, under President Joe Biden, the budget deficit for 2024 is projected to reach $1.9 trillion, a significant portion of which is attributed to his student debt forgiveness plan. The notion that Biden's approach is more fiscally responsible is preposterous, despite Trump's excessive spending during his first term.

The claim that inflation has decreased "remarkably fast" is out of touch with reality. Ordinary Americans are grappling with soaring prices and interest rates, while inflation remains persistently high. The suggestion that Biden has effectively managed the inflation crisis, which he partly instigated, is frankly offensive.

The credibility of these 16 "experts" is undermined by the public's growing skepticism towards authority, fueled by past instances of deception and misconduct. Ironically, the existence of this letter could make Trump a more appealing candidate in contrast to Biden.
