Prominent television personality and former CNN host, Don Lemon, has recently exchanged vows with his partner, Tim Malone, in a ceremony held in New York City.

The 58-year-old, who has recently embarked on a new venture with his self-titled show, didn't shy away from sharing the joyous occasion with the world, as he posted numerous photos of the event on various social media platforms.

The wedding ceremony, as reported by US Weekly, was a blend of traditions from both Lemon and Malone's cultures. Malone's sisters led the attendees in a heartfelt Irish blessing, while the couple concluded the ceremony by jumping over a broom, a gesture of respect to the symbolic way enslaved people in the American South recognized their marriages.

The couple celebrated their union at the Polo Bar, a Ralph Lauren establishment in Manhattan where they had their first date. They rented the entire bottom floor for the weekend, according to a source. The guest list was expected to include a host of celebrities, including Clive Davis, Joy Behar, Matt Laur, Darren Star, the creator of 'Sex and the City', Tamron Hall, and Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, among others.

However, the marriage has sparked some controversy online, as netizens have pointed out that Malone is white. This detail has been deemed ironic by some, considering Lemon's history of criticizing white people during his tenure at CNN. In 2018, Lemon made headlines with a quote stating that white men represented the "biggest terror threat" in modern America.

Lemon had said, "So, we have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right. And we have to start doing something about them. There is no travel ban on them. There is no ban on — they had the Muslim ban. There is no white guy ban. So, what do we do about that?"

The popular account End Wokeness highlighted that Lemon is not the only public figure to have a white partner after publicly criticizing them. Other notable figures include Vice President Kamala Harris, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
