Cherry, who was appointed as an associate communications director at the White House earlier this month, has reportedly deleted nearly 2,500 posts on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter. This information was confirmed by the Social Blade analytics website. Cherry had previously served for over three years at the Department of Interior under Secretary Deb Haaland.
According to Social Blade, Cherry removed 2,496 tweets between Sunday night and Monday morning. However, the actual number could be much higher, as the only visible post on Cherry's personal X account is his response to the controversy surrounding his resurfaced posts. Cherry, a former Interior official, responded on Sunday to the social media uproar over his old posts, which were critical of the police, Republicans, and contained anti-Israel sentiments.

The deletion of these tweets did not go unnoticed by social media users, including the well-known conservative account LibsofTikTok. "Tyler Cherry just deleted all his tweets," the account posted on X. Retired diplomat Alberto Miguel Fernandez also chimed in, questioning, "Did #TylerCherry delete all his incriminating tweets, or did the Biden White House do it for him to cover his tracks?"

Cherry, who was in his 20s when he made the posts, defended himself on X, stating, "Past social media posts from when I was younger do not reflect my current views. Period. I support this Administration's agenda – and will continue my communications work focused on our climate and environmental policies."

Fox News Digital had previously highlighted several of Cherry's most controversial posts on Friday. This included an anti-Israel post from 2014 that gained significant attention and mirrored much of the rhetoric currently prevalent on college campuses. "Cheersing in bars to ending the occupation of Palestine – no shame and f--- your glares #ISupportGaza #FreePalestine," Cherry posted on July 25, 2014.

In 2015, amid the Baltimore riots following the death of Freddie Gray, a Black man, in police custody, Cherry posted, "Praying for #Baltimore, but praying even harder for an end to a capitalistic police state motivated by explicit and implicit racial biases." He further criticized the modern police system in a subsequent post, likening it to "a direct evolution of slave patrols and lynch mobs."

Cherry also called for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in 2018. He has a history of criticizing Republicans, including a 2017 post where he accused conservatives in the Republican Party of focusing on "white grievance politics." According to a report by National Review's Nate Hochman, Cherry frequently criticized events for having too many "white people" in attendance.

Despite the controversy, the White House seems to stand by Cherry. White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates told Fox News Digital that they were "very proud to have Tyler on the team." However, the White House has yet to respond to inquiries about the deleted tweets.
