In a surprising revelation, former President Barack Obama has expressed apprehension about the 2024 election.

This news is particularly startling given Obama's journey from a community organizer in Chicago to a state senator in Illinois, then a United States Senator, and finally the Democratic nominee in 2008. He triumphed over Hillary Clinton for the nomination and defeated John McCain in the presidential race. Yet, he now harbors unease about the upcoming election.

According to RedState, Obama's anxiety mirrors the sentiments of a significant portion of Americans who are also apprehensive about the upcoming election results. However, the reasons behind Obama's concern may differ from those of the general public.

If Obama were to be completely candid, his anxiety could stem from his assessment of Joe Biden's capability to fulfill the presidential role. As a former President, Obama is in a unique position to evaluate Biden's competence. His concern should be heightened by the fact that Biden, his former Vice President, may not be equipped to handle the demands of the presidency.

The 44th President of the United States is reportedly worried about the potential impact of the 2024 election on his legacy and that of President Biden. According to a recent report, Obama and Biden have held several private meetings to strategize on how to safeguard their legacies from potential threats posed by former President Trump in the 2024 election.

A New York Magazine story titled "What Obama is Whispering to Biden" provides an in-depth look at these confidential meetings. It reveals that Obama's anxiety about the election aligns with the concerns of other top Democrats. One of Obama's friends confirmed to the magazine that "his anxiety about the election is real."

The narrative suggests that Obama's anxiety is rooted in policy issues. The fear is that if Trump returns to the White House, he might undo the work that Obama and Biden have accomplished over their respective terms. However, this fear may be an overestimation, as Trump's portrayal in the media as a destructive force may not be entirely accurate.

Trump's first term saw him refrain from targeting Hillary Clinton and her campaign, even when evidence suggested her involvement in the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election. Trump, a former businessman, had previously associated with the Clintons and considered them decent people. This belief may have influenced his decision not to pursue legal action against them.

If Trump wins the 2024 election, Democrats may pressure Republicans in Congress to lobby against him and halt necessary reforms. However, Trump, not being a staunch ideologue, might be more receptive to these ideas than expected.

Obama's fear that Trump might target him and Biden seems unfounded. While Trump might use executive orders or legislation to reverse some Obama and Biden-era policies, his potential term would be limited to four years. During this time, every possible tactic would be employed to delay his initiatives. In 2028, the Democrats would likely nominate a candidate who is more politically and physically robust than Biden appears to be currently.

Obama's anxiety, therefore, seems misplaced. Since leaving office in January 2017, he has amassed considerable wealth, owns a beachfront home in the Hamptons, and is enjoying his retirement. If he wishes to understand the anxieties of everyday Americans, he might consider returning to Chicago to gauge public sentiment about Biden's economic policies over the past three and a half years.

The only legitimate cause for Obama's anxiety could be his knowledge of Biden's current mental state, gleaned from their secret meetings. The fact that he is attempting to secure Biden's reelection despite this knowledge is indeed a cause for concern.
