In a recent interview with Fox News' Brian Kilmeade, actor and comedian Adam Carolla confidently asserted that former President Trump would "destroy" California Governor Gavin Newsom in a direct political confrontation.

Carolla, known for his sharp wit, likened Newsom's political ambitions to a disastrous business venture, saying, "Newsom's a sociopath. He's ruined California, and he wants to franchise. It's like saying, 'I built the world's worst taco stand in California, and now I'm going nationwide with them. And no one's buying what he's selling. Michelle Obama or somebody like that, maybe that's a different story."

According to Fox News, Carolla's criticism of Newsom comes shortly after he announced his plans to leave California, following in the footsteps of celebrities like Dean Cain, Sylvester Stallone, and Mark Wahlberg. Carolla expressed his dissatisfaction with Newsom's leadership, stating, "He's kind of the face of politics and everything that's wrong with politics, which is just this weird aesthetic and a sort of, 'I'd like to have a beer with that guy versus anything good in the policy department.' He's a disaster in the policy department. He's an empty bag. He's a ten cent head, but he's mainly a sociopath. I've interviewed him on my podcast."

During his podcast interview with Newsom, Carolla claimed that the governor failed to provide substantive answers to any of his questions. "He lied, then he doubled down, and he had no solutions," Carolla told Kilmeade. "He brought up a problem [would] try to get some intersectional points on it and, when I kept pressing him to see what the solution or the answer was, he had nothing."

Carolla attributed his decision to leave Los Angeles to the city's decline under Newsom's leadership. While he has not yet decided on his new home, he mentioned Texas, Tennessee, Florida, and the Carolinas as potential destinations.

Despite Carolla's criticism and a recent poll from the Public Policy Institute of California showing Newsom's approval rating at a mere 44% among likely California voters, Newsom remains a prominent figure in the Democratic party. Rumors suggest he could be a potential replacement for President Biden, should the need arise.

However, Newsom has publicly reaffirmed his support for Biden, stating, "I will never turn my back on President Biden. I don't know a Democrat in my party who would do so, especially after tonight." This unwavering loyalty, despite the criticism and challenges, paints a picture of a governor determined to stand by his party and its leadership.
