The infamous shipwreck of the Titanic is set to be explored once again, following the tragic Titan sub disaster that resulted in the loss of all five passengers due to a "catastrophic implosion."

The forthcoming expedition, the first of its kind since the calamity, will be conducted by RMS Titanic Inc, a company that holds exclusive salvage rights to the Titanic, one of the most renowned shipwrecks globally.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the company's primary objective is to preserve the poignant history of the Titanic, which met its tragic end in April 1912, for future generations. This announcement comes a year after the Oceangate disaster, which took the lives of the company's CEO Stockton Rush, 61, Hamish Hardin, 58, Paul Henry Nargeolet, 77, and father-and-son Shahzada, 48 and Suleman Dawood, 19.

The company faced severe criticism for disregarding warnings about the risks and offering discounted tickets to some of the passengers. An investigation into the incident is currently underway. The U.S. federal government had previously attempted to halt RMS Titanic's dive last year, citing federal law and an international agreement that classified the wreckage as a gravesite, according to the Independent.

However, RMS Titanic Inc. has since obtained permission to explore the area, assuring minimal disturbance to the wreckage. This includes "the hull of the ship and the remains of those 1,500 souls lost in the sinking of the ship." Despite the hurdles, the company confirmed to the Independent that their mission is set to proceed next month.

This year's dive, as per the publication, will be entirely unmanned, with vehicles being remotely operated. The company revealed in a Reddit thread last week that they plan to keep the ROVs underwater for a total of 20 days to gather as much information about the site as possible. "We aren't using manned submersibles this time around, so thankfully we don't have to worry about that, just the cabin fever of being stuck on the ship," they wrote.

This upcoming expedition will be RMS Titanic Inc's first since 2010, and they plan to utilize the most advanced technology available. During the dive, they hope to document items that could potentially be recovered in future expeditions. They also aim to gather new details about the tragedy, suggesting that the wreckage may hold "surprises."

One of their primary goals is to retrieve the Marconi wireless system, the equipment used to send the SOS signal during the disaster in the North Atlantic.

While no one owns the Titanic ship resting at the bottom of international waters, RMS Titanic Inc. was granted exclusive rights to salvage the wreckage through an agreement established between Liverpool and London Steamship Protection and Indemnity Association in 1994.
