In the wake of a series of Supreme Court rulings, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren has voiced her disapproval, asserting that the nation's highest court is jeopardizing democracy.

She has urged Congress to consider expanding the number of seats on the bench.

According to The Post Millennial, Warren's criticism was particularly pointed towards the recent immunity ruling, which established that presidents are immune for their "official acts." The senator accused the court's "extremist majority" of being responsible for this decision. "This Supreme Court is undermining the foundations of our democracy," Warren stated. She further argued, "Congress must restore balance by adding more justices to the Court."

The senator's remarks have elicited a spectrum of responses. While some individuals concurred with her viewpoint, others suggested that her criticism was motivated by the court's decisions not aligning with her political preferences. One user questioned, "So, you want to pack the court because it doesn't favor your party?" The user further warned that increasing the number of justices could establish a dangerous precedent, potentially leading to further political manipulation of the Court. They advocated for focusing on "ensuring fair and transparent judicial processes and uphold the integrity of our democratic institutions."

Warren, responding to the immunity ruling, expressed her concern that the court's "extremist majority" posed "a threat to our freedoms and a danger to our democracy." She emphasized, "No one–not even the President–can be above the law." She outlined a two-pronged approach to address this issue: "In the short-term, we must prevent Donald Trump from returning to the White House and enacting Project 2025 and in the long-term, we must keep fighting to reform the Supreme Court, get corruption out of Washington, and restore our democracy."

Warren further warned about the potential dangers posed by the former president, stating, "Donald Trump has already told us how far he's prepared to go to attack our democracy and rip away our freedoms," and added that the Supreme Court's recent ruling has made him "even more dangerous and even less accountable."

The immunity ruling has had a direct impact on Trump's ongoing legal battles. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has stated that he won't oppose the former President's move to delay sentencing in his business documents case, which has been postponed to September from its original July 11 date.
