The tour, which was set to begin on August 15 in Bethel, New York, and conclude on November 8 in Anaheim, California, has been entirely scrapped due to fears surrounding extreme weather events.

According to Variety, the band expressed its apprehensions via social media, stating, “The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires make these risks for you our audience, the band and the crew unacceptable. So … You can blame it on the weather… The tour is cancelled.” This announcement was also reflected on the band's official website, where the 2025 tour dates have been removed.

The Steve Miller Band, renowned for classic hits such as “Rock ‘N Me” and “Take the Money and Run,” as well as the '80s favorite “Abracadabra,” had planned a 31-date tour across the United States. Formed in San Francisco in 1966, the band is led by Steve Miller, who handles guitar and lead vocals.

Their most notable singles include “The Joker,” which topped charts in four countries, and “Abracadabra,” which achieved similar success.

This decision underscores the growing impact of climate concerns on various sectors, including the music industry. As the band prioritizes the safety of its fans and crew, it highlights the broader conversation about how unpredictable weather patterns are influencing traditional activities and events.
