Left-wing Hollywood actor Robert De Niro is once again urging his ideological allies to take to the streets against President Donald Trump, denouncing him as a “mentally ill tyrant” and likening him to a “mad” monarch.

According to Breitbart, the 82-year-old activist-actor used social media to call on Americans to join “No Kings” protests on March 28, then maintain pressure through continued demonstrations and, ultimately, at the ballot box on November 3, which he described as the “ultimate goal.” Organizers of the “No Kings” campaign claim the nationwide effort already includes some 3,000 community events planned across all 50 states and every U.S. congressional district.

“This will be the largest protest in American history,” Ezra Levin, co-executive director of the left-wing group Indivisible, told Fast Company, boasting, “We will be in every single congressional district from the bluest blue to the reddest red.” De Niro, a long-time member of Hollywood’s anti-Trump chorus, has become a prominent face of the effort as “No Kings” seeks to elevate its relevance by putting a celebrity front and center.

Last month, the actor again implored Americans to “resist” the president who won the 2024 election in a landslide victory, insisting, “It’s up to us to get rid of him.” On The Best People With Nicolle Wallace podcast, De Niro escalated his rhetoric, claiming, “The story is our country, and Trump is destroying it, and who knows what his reasons are, but it’s sick, it’s fucked up.”

As Breitbart News reported, the Raging Bull star continued, “We have to save the country,” before declaring, “Trump is the enemy of this country,” and warning, “Let’s not kid ourselves. It’s that simple. Everybody has to stick together to get them out and get back on track.” Doubling down on the language of perpetual resistance rather than civic debate, De Niro concluded, “People have to resist, resist, resist, resist, resist. That’s the only way.”
