As reported by The Post Millennial, the debate saw Biden appear disoriented and confused, losing his train of thought on several occasions. This sparked concern among many Democrats who fear that Biden's continued candidacy could pave the way for a Trump victory. Despite these concerns, the Inquirer editorial board has maintained that it is Trump, not Biden, who should bow out of the race.
In a piece published on Saturday, the editorial board asserted, "The debate about the debate is misplaced. The only person who should withdraw from the race is Trump." They further questioned the decision to include Trump in the debate, challenging the rationale behind giving him a platform.

The board acknowledged Biden's poor performance, stating, "Yes, Biden had a horrible night. He’s 81 and not as sharp as he used to be. But Biden on his worst day remains lightyears better than Trump on his best." They lauded Biden's “substantive record” and “accomplishments” on issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, infrastructure, and support for working families.

In contrast, they lambasted Trump for his alleged dishonesty during the debate, accusing him of telling “30 lies during the debate to go with the more than 30,000 mistruths told during his four years as President.” The board also charged Trump with evading questions and blaming others, particularly Biden, for the nation’s problems.
