Mount Rushmore Before The Presidents Were Carved
The mountain, now known as Mount Rushmore, located in the Black Hills, was originally named "The Six Grandfathers" by the Lakota people. Completed in October 1941, it pays tribute to four United States presidents - George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
