The New York Post reported that the purchase was made in October 2019, roughly five months after Haley joined the board of directors for aerospace behemoth, Boeing.
The estate, a 5,700 square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion boasting panoramic views of the Kiawah River, is nestled amidst ancient oaks and palmettos. Haley secured the property for $2.4 million, a significant drop from the original asking price of $3.3 million.
Built in 2003, the mansion is situated on half an acre of land, offering picturesque views of the Kiawah River, framed by century-old oaks and palm trees. Kiawah Island, a short drive from Charleston, is recognized as a wealthy, yet understated, beach retreat with top-tier golf courses and the renowned Sanctuary resort.

In March 2020, Haley stepped down from Boeing's board, citing the aerospace giant's pursuit of federal aid due to the coronavirus pandemic. Prior to her departure, she had accumulated over $700,000 in consulting fees, in addition to more than $300,000 in cash and stock from the company.

Haley continues to serve as a director for United Homes Group, which has compensated her with over $250,000, excluding future equity grants and other benefits.
During a GOP Presidential debate, Vivek Ramaswamy criticized Haley's financial status. "Nikki, you were bankrupt when you left the UN. After you left the UN, you became a military contractor. You actually started joining service on the board of Boeing, whose back you scratched for a very long time, and then gave foreign multinational speeches like Hillary Clinton did. And now you’re a multimillionaire. That math does not add up. It adds up to the fact that you are corrupt," Ramaswamy stated.
