In the recent Presidential debate, President Joe Biden made a statement that has sparked controversy and outrage, particularly among the families of military heroes who lost their lives in Afghanistan and Syria during his tenure.

The President's comment, which seemed to dismiss the sacrifices of these brave individuals, has been widely criticized as both inaccurate and insensitive.

According to Gateway Pundit, Biden responded to a question during the debate by asserting that no American troops had died "anywhere in the world" during his presidency. This statement is in stark contrast to the reality of the situation. In August 2021, during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan orchestrated by Biden's administration, a terrorist attack at the Kabul airport claimed the lives of thirteen U.S. troops. Furthermore, just six months ago, three U.S. troops from a guard unit in Georgia were killed in a terrorist attack in Syria.

In the debate, Biden stated, “The notion that we were this safe country. The truth is I’m the only president this century that doesn’t have any, this, this decade, that doesn’t (have) any troops dying anywhere in the world like he did.” This comment has been met with widespread condemnation, with many viewing it as a blatant disregard for the sacrifices made by our military personnel.

Following the debate, reporters questioned Department of Defense deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh about the President's erroneous claim. Initially, Singh attempted to deflect the question, stating, “Thank you for the question. For more on the president’s comments and on the debate itself, I’d refer you to the White House.” However, when pressed further, Singh acknowledged the tragic loss of service members during Biden's administration, stating, “As you have reported on, we have certainly had service members pass during this administration, and you’ve seen not just the secretary, but the president, weigh in and comment and offer condolences.”

The names of the U.S. troops who were killed in the Kabul airport attack were reported by the Guardian. The marines were S Sgt Darin T Hoover, Sgt Johanny Rosariopichardo, Sgt Nicole L Gee, Cpl Hunter Lopez, Cpl Daegan W Page, Cpl Humberto A Sanchez, L/Cpl David L Espinoza, L/Cpl Jared M Schmitz, L/Cpl Rylee J McCollum, L/Cpl Dylan R Merola, and L/Cpl Kareem M Nikoui. The sailor was Navy Hospitalman Maxton W Soviak, and the soldier was SSgt Ryan C Knauss.

In a separate incident, three U.S. soldiers were killed in Jordan, with over 40 other service members injured in an uncrewed aerial system attack at a military base near the Syrian border. The soldiers, Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders, and Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, were all assigned to the 718th Engineer Company, 926th Engineer Battalion, 926th Engineer Brigade, Fort Moore, Georgia.

These tragic incidents underscore the reality of the risks faced by our military personnel, a reality that seems to have been overlooked in President Biden's debate comments. The families of these fallen heroes, along with the American public, deserve recognition and respect for the sacrifices made by these brave individuals. The President's comments, which appear to dismiss these sacrifices, are not only factually incorrect but also deeply disrespectful to those who have given their lives in service to our nation.
